The park encompasses the beautiful Montgó mountain, which is shaped like a sleeping elephant, and rises to height of 753 metres. Within the nature reserve’s 2117 hectares, you can discover more than 650 species of flora and vegetation and see superb views of the surrounding areas. There is a visitors’ centre which organizes all kinds of activities and guided excursions all year-round, so it’s well worth checking out.

Dénia, Unesco gastronomic city

Food is a way of life in Spain and a huge part of its culture, and nowhere is that more so than in La Marina Alta! Whether it’s traditional tapas, international street food or fine dining, it’s going to be delicious.

La Marina Alta has a total of nine Michelin-starred restaurants and Dénia has been awarded "Gastronomic City of Unesco." This distinction recognises the culinary excellence of the whole region of La Marina Alta and reflects its enthusiasm for food. There is a calendar of gastronomic events throughout the year in Denia and its neighbouring towns, that include fairs, festivals, competitions, tastings, routes, and special menus. Enjoy!

La Marina Alta has a variety of beaches. You can enjoy fine sandy beaches, undulating dunes and crystal-clear waters as well as dramatic rocky coves in stunning surroundings.

This is such a diverse enclave. You can rest and relax in total tranquillity in one area and dive into a huge range of water sports in another. Wind surfing, hand gliding, sailing, rowing, scuba diving and paddleboarding are particularly popular.

With its mountainous regions and countryside

For those who prefer the land to the sea, there is an abundance of activities. Hiking is very popular as there are fantastic trails for hikers of all levels. As well as the the Montgó mountain, you can explore routes like the The Greenway, which takes you through orange and almond trees or the path of Les Rotes beside rocky coves, an area which is a marine reserve. Beautiful country roads take you through traditional towns like Jesus Pobre, La Xara, Pedreguer and Benidoleig.

You can explore these on foot or cycling. With extensive cycling network routes, that take you from coastal plains to steep mountains, La Marina Atla has become a favourite destination for cyclists from all over the world. The area embodies a cycling culture with its cycling café, specialized hotel, and organized training camps and competitions taking place throughout the year.

In a unique environment

If you are a keen golfer, La Marina Alta has a special treat for you. Surrounded by a pine forest with stunning views of Montgó mountain and the Mediterranean sea, La Sella Golf is the largest golf course on the Costa Blanca. It was designed by the championship golfer José María Olazábal, so it has everything a keen golfer could wish for: 27 holes, an Approach Area and Driving Range. It hosts national and international competitions throughout the year, including the Winter Tournament held in January or Holiday Golf in August.
